My dad just blew up at me for failing two classes. He is saying i wont get into college or succed and is very very angry. He is saying alot of hurtful things and i dont know how to calm him down. Please what should i do??

He has been doing most of my college prep and has been really doing well and thinks i am blowing it all away.

He's miffed because you aren't doing well in school.
All the work that he and Mom have done to keep you on the straight-n-narrow doesn't appear to be working. It's Saturday! Perhaps you should have shown him your grades LAST night, too.

Talk to your father about why you're having trouble passing those classes. Maybe if you get some extra help you will do better in them. Tell him if you want to go to college or not. But if you don't please have some type of goals to back you up. Also remind your dad that it hurts your feelings when he says hurtful things and that it can in the long run discourage you from ever accomplishing anything. After the two of you calmly talk it out.... Give each other a hug.

Tottaly ignore him.
When he asks how your grades are coming IGNORE him or say the same.
But make sure they're actually coming up just dont tell him.
And then when report cards come in. BAM!
Hell be sooo suprised.

remove yourself... until he calms down. go to your room... or some other quiet place. ask to be excused.. if necessary and tell him... you need some time out... for both of you to calm down. do not personalize his remarks.. unfortunately people say things they do not really mean.. while angry or hurt.

well he is ur dad...n has a right to be angry at u for failing two classes...all parents who care are like that...was there any particular reason u failed? let him know. n if u mean to work harder let him know...he mite quiten down

tell him you will try better next time, or if it was the best you can,,, do tell him that you did your best.. either way tell the truth
