I was just wondering. Or are they so stuck up that they won't do it.

I don't know about Utah. We don't have soup kitchens, but in our area several local churches rotate providing dinners to the needy using the Presbyterians' facilities.

Soup Kitchen Utah

I'm not sure, but I know lots of LDS people who volunteer at the soup kitchens. We also have a Bishops store house where the poor can get free groceries and hygiene supplies. I know, because our family has had to use it. But I wouldn't doubt it if they had soup kitchens. We also help people in other countries, not just Utah.

I personally have volunteered to help with some of the services, like making kits for poor and new mothers, making kits for people in other countries, donating to the church (The money doesn't go to us, it goes to the poor) etc. I believe the Bishops store house donates food to the Soup Kitchens, along with other churches. My question is Does the Catholic Church have their own soup kitchen? Do the Baptists? No, but they, along with our church all contribute to helping at the soup kitchens. The real question should be, do they HELP at the soup kitchens. If you are mad at us for not having personal soup kitchens then be mad at all the other churches too.

Wow! Nice accusations. Bet you didn't know that the LDS and Catholic Church are partners in humanitarian services around the globe. We have senior missionary couple around the world that do not proselyte, only do humanitarian like building homes and teaching people to boil water so they don't get one of 100 diseases caused by dirty water.

We were the first church on site during Katrina.

Stuck up? I would have to not agree. My church also discourages its members to use state welfare. Instead they put them on church welfare. They pay their bills and give them free food. We have mini-grocery stores called "bishop store houses" all around the world. I have volunteered there, it is unbelievable.

Do some research, you'd be amazed!!

Oh my, aren't we tolerant. When was the last time YOU did anything to help the needy? I don't know if Mormons have soup kitchens but I do know many Mormons personally who care about people, no matter what their religion. I've worked with several Mormon pharmacists who treat everyone fairly - the poor, the wealthy, black, white, hispanic.... they are more fair than pharmacists of other religions that I've worked with. So get off your high horse. I bet you've never met a Mormon in your life.

The LDS church is one of the leading disaster relief organizations, and they also help the needy with their own welfare system that the church alone supports.

Soup kitchens? Maybe not...but they have the Bishop's food store...

BPD Mormon Investigator?
Okay, Boarderline Personality Disorder is extreme black and white thinking. A distorted view of reality. An investigaor with BPD is told that she can't get baptized because she's mentally ill but the ordance can be done for her after she's dead. So she tries to kill herself because she wants to be a baptized Mormon. Can't you see how someone with bpd, extreme black and white thinking, distorted view of reality can interpret things that way? And what should the leaders have done to GET HER TO UNDERSTAND THAT THEY WEREN"T WISHING HER DEAD?

He's an anti mormon troll with mental problems just read his questions.

they support them everywhere...

“This is primarily funded by the Salvation Army, but we also get food from the Bishop’s warehouse...Other churches also contribute to the kitchen.” Finnerty said. “The Methodist, Presbyterian, and Lutheran churches all contribute....

...He adds that the LDS church has the largest crews by far, as they have their own programs and come from different wards to volunteer in the kitchen at Kuzy Hall.

“They’ve been very generous!” he said.

“Sister Carol Cottam, from the 2nd ward, is our LDS volunteer organizer, and we would be lost without her,” Cortez said. “She had 44 volunteer hours in October alone.”

if you need food, go talk to a local Bishop and he will ask questions to determnine your needs and help you from there. I have never heard of soup kitchens but I know they do have a program to help with job training and employment location and food help, just gotta ask

DUDE. We have one of the biggest private welfare systems in the world! The bishop has a food store he gives out to needy families. We are not a bit stuck up when it comes to charity.
