No. Jesus was a Hebrew and Hebrews are Jewish. Jesus was a Jew, says so in the Bible. Don't listen to the ppl that said yes. Judaism is NOT a type of Christianity.

Jesus lived and died a practising Jew. Judaism was the only faith he knew. Successive Popes have stated this in a bid to remind Christians of this fact.

Christianity did not develop until decades after the Romans killed Jesus.

Jesus did not suggest that Judaism was redundant or that it was to be set aside. G-d's covenant with the Jews is ETERNAL. Why on earth would G-d suddenly recant on all the laws etc that were given to Moses, in the presence of so many Jews, on Mount Sinai? Makes no sense.

Paul was the true founder of Christianity, and he never even met Jesus.

Just to correct some other answers:

Jesus was NEVER 'king of the Jews'. Only the Romans ever called him this.

Jews do NOT view Jesus as a prophet. He does not feature in Jewish theology whatsoever.

Jesus did not 'start' Christianity. He died a practising Jew. Christianity did not evolve until about 70 years AFTER Jesus had died.
If he started anything, it was Reform Judaism.

Jesus is the Christ whom Christianity revolves around. He was born a Jew, but can't really be called a Christian for the fact that Christians believe that Jesus is God and so if Jesus was a Christian he would have to worship, believe in and pray to himself.

Jesus was a wandering Rabbi & wonder worker of the Pharasaic school. But that does not mean that the Ruach Ha Kodesh was not involved in the creation of the early Christian community.

well actually that IS a good question because every idiot out there has learned that he was Jewish but come to realize that a christian is someone who believes in Christ's teachings (hence CHRISTian) and if he believed in his own teachings, wouldn't that then deem Jesus a christian? So my answer to you is that Jesus is both Jewish and perhaps indeed Christian.

His mother and Joseph were jewish
the bible he read was the old testament
He came to bring truth
His apostles were the first Christians
along with the 3000 believers that were
added in Acts 2, it is presummed that they
were also jewish.
Christianity was born from the jewish faith
because of Jesus. Apostle Paul, several years latter
started preaching to gentiles, (people not born
jewish)
We are " grafted in" , thats what the bible tells us.

no, he was jewish
and I am being serious, kind of ironic.
You can't be Christian without the new testament and that is what Jesus is in, so he had to be jewish
