I'm making a list for christmas, one of the things I'm thinking about writing down is an HDMI cable for my ps3. I only have a standard Insignia t.v. no high def expensive one. So can I hook up an HDMI cable from my ps3 to my standard t.v?

No, you can't use HDMI cable for that. Use the cable, provided with your PS3.

no. hdmi is for hd tvs u need a standerd cable

No, there isn't a port on a standard TV for HDMI.
Even if there was, there would be no way for you to notice a difference anyway.

no absolutely not... just take a look in the back panel of your tv to see if it have a HDMI input; hope you know what it looks like.

NO! it wont work with a regular TV
