I was down sick with a flu and then my cat started vomiting the next day. Is it possible that I gave her the flu?

There are a few diseases which are cross-species communicable, but they are rare. Rabies is one, for example. Flu is very rarely communicable, why the avian flu epidemic hasn't been an epidemic in humans (but it's possible that it could mutate, as fast as it transmits in avians, and become a form that could affect humans; why we watch it so carefully -- well, that, and we prefer disease-free poultry when making our dinner choices). Generally, you can assume that you didn't give your pet the flu.
