Smart countries like the United Arab Emirates are actively investing their current wealth in the future. Other leaders care only about themselves and haven't a thought or care for the future. Personally, I think the world would be better off without the influence of Arab-oil.

It is not now the case that most of the Arab wealth comes from oil. It is 30 years since the 1970's and much of the money in the middle east is wrapped up in investments and financial operations. Some countries never had much oil to begin with, and some of those which did, such as Kuwait, have been making a lot of their money from banking for some time. In the United Arab Emirates we seem to have another Hong Kong, the geographic location puts it at the heart of transport from those countries with a big manufacturing economy to those in the West with a service economy.

Saudi Arabia and Iraq are both heavily oil dependent economies, but neither of those countries is likely to fall short of oil any day soon.

One country which has never been able to depend on oil is Egypt, and the Egyptians are the dominant Arab culture in the Middle East.

According to all accounts (except for those in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait) oil in the Middle East will be tapped in about 40-50 years if current trends continue.

The UAE primarily though Dubai is the only Gulf state that has really diversified its economy away from Petroleum.

If the others do not do the same in the next 20 years, expect total economic collapse. In the region.

As for the West, they are not as stupid as people think, they will get hurt, but they will also create a safety cushion that allow them to switch to other sources of energy fairly quickly.

remember worst case scenario, it is possible to make oil out of coal, and the United States has plenty of coal.

Future does not look good for Israel. Today some world leaders started questioning Israel's right to exist, so what will tomorrow bring? Israel has a weak Government that is full of libs that are trying to constantly appease their enemy. The stupidity of Israeli Government is limitless. For years they gave something to their enemies, and it sparked more violence. And they still didn't learn their lesson, they are still ready to appease. That is plain dumb. I hope that the right-wingers win the next election, and do what needs to be done. P.S. And they worry too damn much about how they look in the eyes of the rest of the world - BIG mistake. Don't arrest terrorists, kill terrorists!

not just to "their " economy!! America depends on this arab oil also. All countries depend on it. So once the oil is done all of the countries will be in crisis, not just the middle east!

sorry if this doesn't answer the question precisely it has some personall views in it too.

Israel will help them of course. seee below what I mean.

but don't underestimate the arab countries people are people.

I never understood one thing about Israel and about jews why are we not violent and not vendetative? why don't we ever look for revenge and why has israel ever seeken revenge and does it only help countries in need?

is it because we are to proud for revenge?
I think it's because we know wars lead to nothing good- so my guess is that even if the arab countries get a bit less strong at that time Israel would already have peace with them all and support them - I see the world going to become one global big country devided into little contries - that is a dream of mine - and it will happen I think because we all as humans are more alike - the only things bringing us apart are hate. and that again is a reason why Israel never revenges because it is a loving country that doesn't hate any country.

Just 200 years ago there was no oil in our world…. So what
If oil finishes their will be something else for energy….

And for your information, according to the most accurate studies about the world proven deposits of oil, the last barrel of oil will come from Iraq.

And don’t be so optimistic about the future of Israel.

What's the matter?

They'll just build 50 more sail-shaped luxury hotels and they'll be set for the next 100 years.
