Most believers (in religion) believe in the god their parents worship. That's why Hindu parents raise children who usually believe in the Hindu gods. Ditto any other god or belief system you can dream up. Ditto political party we vote for, food we eat, friends we seek, car we drive, level of education etc etc. So much of what we are is imitation of our parents (care-givers), whether we like to admit it or not. Parents want their kids to benefit from their experience and teach them what has worked for them (I know some parents are much less than caring for their kids, but generally this is true).

My question is: why do occasional offspring go off on a tangent and not follow the teachings and examples of their parents? Not just in religion but in other life-style choices.

Parental influence to a point. My christian parents taught me to explore and find answers and not take things at face value. Any parents that encourage their children to find their own paths may have children with totally different beliefs, views and lifestyles than they do.

As an Agnostic I have two comments to make.

Depends on the parent, and if they can allow their children to make up their own minds.

This is why I have a problem believing in any one God, there are so many to choose from it just seems to man made for me.

I raised my children with information. I did not force any one ideology on them. I was Christian at the time, just so you know. I shared my beliefs with them, but did not force any of it on them. I taught them about other religions as well as atheism and agnosticism.

My son is Atheist and my daughter is Agnostic.

the question is not why sometimes people abandon their parents's footprints to choose their own way, but why most of the people continue believing in what tradition makes them think without having appropriate reasons or personal reflection to be a proof of what they believe just because it's tradition to?

Because every human isn't just a make-up of their parental genes. We have free will. If we were purely biological creatures, we would only make choices that are a combination of X and Y or X and X.

Well, yes, obviously! Most people are such sheep. "'ey! I'm fum Boson. I'ma Red Sox fan!" "Hey, my dad's a lifer in the military. Go Dubya!" So, yeah, if your dad is a hard drinking racist like Jimmie Swaggart, so you might tend to be, too.

Wouldn't it be possible that I, as a child, could see the flaws in my parents' thinking/beliefs and in such didn't wish to follow on blind faith?

We just allow our children to think for themselves.

My son is an atheist. I am not.
