That while we are discussing religion and if there is a God or not, virtually every second, someone dies and finds out.

It's one of the biggest questions out there, and people have been arguing about it for thousands of years, yet, even whilst I have written this and you have read it, many, many people have found out for sure.

Surely that's the whole point. They will either be aware or not aware of something

It is incredible to contemplate and yet so much more real than most of what we do day to day. We have it to easy in the West death is removed from us. In much of the world death occurs up close and personal. I think many people religious or not live as if life will continue forever rather than living on the assumption that death may come in the next moment.

I wouldn't refer to it as "finding out", since they're not aware of anything. But yes, that's a very interesting comment.

The fact of the matter is that in something under 100 years, every single one of us here will be gone, and as far as any of us are concerned, all of these questions will be resolved. No matter how much the Christians claim otherwise, in under 100 years, we'll all have ceased to exist except as decaying matter.

And with all these billions of deaths, there's not one conclusive shred of evidence that an afterlife exists. Occam's Razor is calling!

EDIT:
Since we have no evidence for an afterlife, we can assume a) there is nothing, or we can assume b) an infinite number of complex explanations (a cartoon universe, ghosts, heaven, a great pool of non-corporeal energy, reincarnation, etc) Barring evidence, it is irresponsible to assume anything. Do you prefer to believe in the cartoon universe, which is just as likely as any other answer, or do you pick the one that makes you *FEEL* best (i.e. heaven?)

We all find out in the end, so logically, it pays to be a Christian. Think about it, if we're right, you atheists spend eternity in hell, if we're wrong (we're not, its not even a possibility) then we're no worse off. Isn't it incredible to think?

When I lost a dear friend to breast cancer in 2001, I realized that Shyrlene now has all the answers to all the questions.

She visited me in my home a year after she died. I saw her and her dog Trans.

And your question is?
Can I think?? yes I can
Will I die? yes I will
Will I go to an afterlife? yes I will
That's my story and I'm sticking to it..
