My scanner puts it into pdf format. How do I move it to another program where I can save as jepg?

MS paint, which is a part of XP, will do that Start > All Programs > Accessories > Paint Open the tif file Do a "save as" and right under where you would type the filename is a file type drop down Change the type to jpg Save the file
