HDTV is a resolution. Many different TV technologies are HDTV, displaying in 720 lines of vertical resolution, or 1080 lines.

Plasma is a type of technology of the TV. In this case, gas trapped in cells within a pane of glass. When excited by electricity, the gas lights up.

hdtv has a better picture cause well it is 'high definition' plasma are jus plain old flat screens
