No, the only thing damaged will be the female dogs reputation.

The damage comes when a person tries to separate the dogs, or if a much larger male mounts a little female.

It seems really weird in comparison to human physiology, but it's not that unusual for dogs. The evolutionary idea of the sexually stuck together thing is to ensure effective semen delivery.

It doesn't hurt them and it's pretty normal. A former co-worker of mine bred beagles, he mentioned this happening several times.

It is natural for dogs to separate by them selves, but if the female is fighting to get loose, it could be damaging!

No, they are truly "stuck" on each other, as a matter of speaking. Once had a dog (we lived in the Country @ the time) who was in heat, and I was mortified to see this. I literally tried to separate them (YUCK, BY THE WAY) and I couldn't. Yes, this is normal to answer ur question.

The male has a large ring around his penis that when it swells the combatants are stuck together. This assures that the Male's semen will get the job done as it can't fall out, after they are done the male looses his erecton and out it comes
