Hi,
You state:
Why do Christians insist on interpreting simple Bible verses the wrong way, and then turn around?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And in a non-sarcastic inquisitive tone and meaning, I am impressed that you know the correct interpretation of simple Bible verses. I think most people get it wrong. In any event it is almost impossible to get a discussion going on the right interpretation. It usually settles into a discussion of hearsay such as: "My so-and-so said this, and they can't be wrong, so what you are saying in wrong when it dissagrees with my source, and my guy is never wrong." And, since those, who actually are doing the work are not involved, it usually does not turn into a discussion of facts. I am one who has done the work. I am not difficult to understand. I am certainly not pedantic. If you would care to discuss facts with someone who is also not an expert like me, I would love to have an open and careful dialog.
You must have a few examples of what you have heard and dislike. Would you care to share one????
Thank-you,
Curtish47

First of all how do you they really are Christians. Just because someone on here says they are does not mean they really are just like there are many people on here who claim to be atheist who are not. There are people on here perpetrating a fraud. If you say the interpretations are wrong, then you must know the right interpretation, so just correct those of us who are wrong.

Many Christians have studied the Bible for many years, so where do you get your authority for your interpretation from? I see lists of bible contradictions listed by people on YA who know nothing about the bible and every one of them is totally irrelevant to what is being talked about.

Interpreting means point of view. You can never win or lose in an argument about opinions or points of view, The most that usually comes of it are people getting senselessly upset.

It is just being a lowly human to twist stuff around to benefit one's own argument. No matter who they are. The Bible is a rich source for people to do this.

many people do make mistakes in interpretation. especially non believers. that should not stop them for reading , they should pray for understanding and they should consult the concordance and ask other christians.

Wisdom is what interprets.
Humans have varying degrees of Wisdom.
What one sees through their acquired Wisdom others do not see.
Veils have been placed within and around some things to protect man, not to hinder man.
"Peace be always with you."
