I'm putting up my tree today and i don't want him biting, swallowing, or breaking anything from the tree, ornaments, or the gifts. If it makes a difference it's a fake tree.

thanks.

Gosh my little winston loved chewing on the tree. To stop him I did a little training with him to let him know its very bad. I never let him be alone. If this is too difficult try the sprays that make things taste bad for dogs. That will stop them in their first nibble and trust me - they'll never do it again! (oh and the face they make is so funny. : ) )

good luck!

Puppy Christmas Tree

He's a puppy, you should do your best to keep an eye on him and close him out of the room the tree is in.
Then have training sessions, take him into the room with the tree and sit down in front of the tree. Everytime he goes for it make a loud sound and push him away. You have to treat it as if it is your territory, dogs respond to this method. Do that a few times and he'll stay away from it.

Tabasco sauce?
Lol.
Is it possible to fence your puppy ? Keep him away from the tree or raise the tree.
Put it on top of something like a table. How tall is the little terror?
A tree skirt with lots of impediments underneath will also keep him away from the tree.

My best advice is to put the tree up where he cant reach it.

Hi, I understand that you are looking for some advice or resources to help fully train your dog or fix behavior problems. If a professional dog trainer is not an option at this time, or if you want to trt training your dog on your own (a great way to bond), I'd suggest you https://tr.im/BNwiW

A friend recommened it to me a few years ago, and I was amazed how quickly it worked, which is why I recommend it to others. The dog training academy also has as an excellent home training course.

The best and cheapest is to mix a teaspoon of Cayenne pepper with a quart of water in a spray bottle.
Then spray the bottom of the tree.

My results: We trained my 6yo chow chow KJ to behave much better in just 3 days. There was nothing to it. I wish we were faster to discover the Dog discipline magic system on google.

Squirt him with a water bottle until he gets the point. This worked for my little pup!
