when I was a kid I had a dream where a total stranger (a local news anchor) who recently died came to me in a dream and gave me advice on life, he treated me as if he was my father or grandfather, sharing his wisdom with me, what in the word is the meaning of such a dream?

the setting seemed to be a street, I was on a sidewalk and there was a street with medium traffic and some medium sized trees. Across the street, behind a parking lot there was a store. The time of day seemed to be early evening in the summer time.

It means that typewriters don't sing. And if there continues to be no hair on footballs, it'll probably rain on Tuesday.

Im no dream interpereter, but i know some things. First, this person was a symbol of something, its not just a coincidence you dreamed of him. When you thought of him, what do you think of? and the advice is a sign that you must be seeking something, conciously or not. Next, the location of your dream is important too. Where were you? in the news room? in your house? this also symbolises something. Basically a dream is your life projecting these symbols out with your emotions tucked just below the surface. Its up to you to find out what they mean. (yes i am only 14)

Okay, I'm not real big on dream interpreting myself, but here is what I found that might help out.

To see famous people in your dream, signifies an increase to your prosperity and honor.

Death
To dream about the death of a loved one, suggests that you are lacking a certain aspect or quality that the loved one embodies. Ask yourself what makes this person special or what do you like about him. It is that very quality that you are lacking in your own relationship or circumstances. Alternatively, it indicates that whatever that person represents has no part in your own life.

It could mean nothing. Was the advice useful? He was just someone you saw on the news or something. I have random dreams all the time that I don't pay attention to them anymore.

It may have meant that it was time to turn outside of your family, to the world for wisdom and life lessons. The location was also outside of your home, reinforcing the above interpretation.

Most dreams are caused only by what has happened or is on your mind when you retire for the night.

He's been through something you will go through or have already gone through also and is giving you advice how to pull yourself out of a rut?
