I wish you had of just bought a Mac to begin with so that you would never have to ask question like this again. I say this a Microsoft Certified System Engineer. You will have to download more software to get this to work, or if as it sounds your machine is new you could return it for credit. I make my living off of the mediocrity of Microsoft products, and Vista is the hardest ever to use. You really need a professional living with you to enjoy this professionals only software. It is meant for businesses to limit what can be done with it, and not for the computers owner to do what they want with it. You will be forced to make decisions every day that you need a great deal of training to conclude.

Depends on the video camera. My dad's camera does the same thing. Some save as quick time and some as avi files, its all in the manufacturer or the camera or video

Most likely the answer is to get something that will convert the quick time clips to avi.

Change the output from Movie Maker to something beside .mov. It will output your file in several different formats. Or, get Quicktime from Adobe. It's free and you can play the .mov files. Or, download the VLC Player. It plays just about anything and it is free also.
