So you tried manually removing QT and it doesnt work... My guess is you deleted critical files without uninstalling it... I would find the older version of QT online, try installing it, then remove it. That should wipe it clean.
*There may even be a "repair" option when trying to install QT, do that if it is available.

Hi, Nernwon K:

Please go to your tray and open start, open run and type in: c://program files and click on browse, open program files and look for "quicktime". See if the file will delete. If it says "write protected", ctc., me and I will give you a link to software free that will delete a write protected file. If it says, "program in use", make sure that you have exit quicktime from your tray. Reboot and try again to delete quicktime.

Next to go start, search and type in, quicktime and let your pc search for all files related to quicktime. When these files come up delete from top to bottom. Any file that says "in use", reboot and try again. If says "write protected", ctc. me.

Next go to start, search and type in apple, and let your pc search. Delete all related files.

This part is dangerous if you are not experienced. If you are sure that you know that you are doing, then go to start, run and type in: regedit and click on "ok", and your registry will open. Now open HKEY CURRENT USER, open "software", and look down the list for quicktime & apple if in your registry and delete. (These steps will remove the program from your system).

I need quicktime for Xrays, and I use a much older version of quicktime, because the new version fails to work and I had the same experience. And that was without itunes installed.

You have to get quicktime out of your system, because if you try and reinstall, quicktimes the programs fails to remove the older version as claimed and continues on and one to try and install the new version until your disk is 100% full. I know from experience. (My disk is 37.2GB. and I only had 8.0GB on my disk).

Best of luck with the instruction and you can ctc. me if you need a free software program to delete a write protected file.

you will get carry of XP provider %. to 2 from microsoft - its a unfastened get carry of, whether it is great - must be well worth purely installation provider %. 3 now regardless of the undeniable fact that - its well worth it because of the fact the think of the hot version of iTunes is somewhat slick
