From the way the USA has been getting hammered by ice storms, and huge major Blizzards, are we sure that Global Warming isn't just a hoax??

Up here in Canada, weather is great ;0)

Global warming is an issue of climate, being a long term effect. Also, if you read up on the predicted impacts, one of them is more extreme winters.

Global warming does not mean tropical summers with no snowstorms.

Your argument is equally as valid as saying: It was warm in June and now it's cold! Global warming must not be real!

Long term effects take long term to measure. We're talking about 1 degree over the past 100 years. You have to take a long term average, not pick out an example and say that since it's cold today, there is no such thing as global warming.

Some parts of the US are currently experiencing far above normal temps - up to the 80's in places whereas ordinarily at this time of year they would be in the 50's.

These hot and cold events are meaningless in themselves as they're the result of localised factors that determine the weather, climate is something very different.

Overall this year, temperatures around the globe have been considerably higher than average. Taking the skeptics favourite source of temperature information (NASA) then 2007 is the second hottest year on record globally, beaten only by 2005.

I'm in the UK and yesterday was the coldest day so far this year, today has been the second coldest. We've had three days now where temperatures have fallen below zero. There was another sub zero day in November and one in October bringing the total to 5 such days. Ordinarily there would have been 18 or 19 such days this far into the year. Historically, where I live, there has been regular snow in December but the last time that happened was 1979.

It looks likely that there will be a few more cold days but then warming up again. The prospect of a White Christmas is looking more and more unlikely.

It is cold here. And lots of snow. A normal winter. As always.

But that is the global warming God trying to fool us. The global warming God can make it cold just to fool us about the fact that the world is getting warmer. We need to toss some virgins into the volcano to appease the global warming God. Then things will get better.

In the year 2000 our local meteorologist on T.V. said that five hundred years ago out in the Pacific the temperature of the ocean got warmer causing more rains to hit the west coast of the U.S. Five hundred years ago was when Columbus discovered America. Who was out in the Pacific taking the temperature? Do they read the rings of the trees, how accurate is that. Is this how atmospheric scientists get their data also? A hundred years isn’t a very long time to start determining the out come of climate change. Did they look at their tea leaves? Nice try atmospheric scientist but there are more atmospheric scientists in this world than just you who don’t believe your crap.
