Then why are so many beginning to support Mike Huckabee? Was he not the one who originally thought up the idea of the "Touchback" amnesty initiative? Remember ppl he's from Arkansas. I would be careful on this one.

RJ: The Clinton's made no secret of this either. funny how Tysons became the No.1 largest poultry producer during the Clinton Administration as well Cargill becoming the largest privately owned corporation in the world during this same time period. But ppl seemed to neglect the fact that illegal immigration exploded during this time as well. Why? Ppl only seen the FEDERAL RESERVE NOTE and not much else.

Any one who is not against illegal immigration should be deported right along with them. Deport Mike Huckabee and all of his followers!

It is way too early still to say Huckabee is the clear winner. We still have other votes to go. However, I find it wonderful that the Repubs are at least addressing illegal immigration instead of avoiding it like the Dems are. I am upset that I may just have to vote for the lesser of two evils.. yet again.. signed a reluctant Republican who was an Independent but who will not cast a vote for Huckabee.

First off, I see a lot of answerers who hate Christianity. Dunno why. If Mr. Huckabee is a true Christian, who better to get in than someone who loves peace, loves people, will always be honest and do what is best for everybody, and never lie to us, or steal from us.
Get us back to the Constitution, which was written by men influenced by the principles of true Christianity, to a greater or lesser extent, and wanted to be free of the mere formal lip service Christianity of their government.
Suppose Billy Graham were able to run fro President, a man who was not a huckster, and who converted many people to the benefit of their lives and the lives of them around them. But again, he lived his faith, not put it on to cover up what is underneath, as many "professional Christians" that make the big news do.
I cannot at this point even hazard a guess as to whether Mr. Huckabee is truly following God and the Bible, and so would be great for the country, or is one of those who professes for personal gains, and really is still pagan at heart.
How, tho, could anybody fault a President who really believed in peace and love, and honesty, and fairness, and did not lie or deliberately mislead. Unless they were against such things deep within themselves.
Now, as to the illegal immigration issue, I have not heard his position. If he is a true Christian, he is obedient to the law of the land, tho can work to change it by legal and ethical means.
If Mr. Huckabee is one who wants to condone illegal acts of any sort, I would want to question him of how a Christian behaves when faced with an illegality. I believe Paul discussed these things a lot, and it could be very instructive to ask Mr. Huckabee how he understands Paul's admonitions in the Bible regarding government and even Jesus's admonition to give to Caesar what is Caesar's...!
I am not sure that those from Arkansas are any more devious than other politicians. I think that is a prejudgment, and not wise.
And I am not sure that most Americans ARE against illegal immigration. Those who make money off it one way or another are for it, at least clandestinely, and there are also some who are bleeding hearts and feel we should be taking care of all the poor, the huddled masses, but do not want to pay for that care themselves! They are hypocrites.
Let THEM take into their homes as many of the illegals as they can and support them by themselves, rather than expecting everybody else to take care of the illegals because these do-gooders want them taken care of, without sacrefice to themselves.
Anyhow, I am one who is probably displaced from a job by illegal immigrants, as I cannot find even manual labor work. Lots of Spanish-appearing and speaking men tho who are flooding the labor pools! But that is circumstantial evidence.
I have some problems reconciling an honest Christian Preacher condoning much of what the Democratic Party stands for, or the Republicans, either.
But if Huckabee is real, and will stick up for a government done according to Biblical principles of honesty, caring for others, making peace, etc, would be real interesting to see how he would effect such changes. And just how soon he would be impeached or assassinated by those who love evil and cannot stand a good man showing what Integrity really is.
And how much cheaper it is, also!!
And I submit, most people have very short attention spans anymore, especially on complex subjects!

I have not decided to vote for any of the candidates yet because it is too early. Don't put so much stock in the polls or the pundits. They all predicted victory for Clinton just a few weeks ago and now look at her polls.

Mike Hucabee is a consumate politician. I don't support him BTW. It is worth noting though his total lack of shame. He'll pander to whoever pays him and he thinks can put him in office.
One day he's all "these are God's children" and the next day he agrees suddenly with the way the American people expect him to act which is close the borders start deporting alien felons and arrest illegal businesses which illegally employ illegal aliens. he also now favors cutting off any government support (welfare) to these illegal criminals.
Sorry for those of you who don't like the term criminal illegal aliens, sorry that it just the law and current legal definition.
Once we do that the vast majority of these illegal aliens will return home on their own.

I have yet to find a single candidate that I agree with on every element of a political platform. Most people choose the person that matches them MOST.
I won't be voting for Mike Huckabee. And he won't be elected.

Just what we need in the White House, a Baptist Minister! I don't understand the reasoning of his backing. We need a strong person who is truly an American and will be able to separate church and state! I don't want an athiest in there either but come on, might as well elect Jimmy Swaggart!
