It's actually the second date, but, close enough. I'd prefer the Village/NYU area or the West Village, and not too pricey. Any suggestions?

Gene's on West 11th Street off Sixth Avenue. Excellent Italian food, great service. They have a prix fixe dinner for less than $30 with lots of choices.

In the West Village on Greenwich and West 11th Street is Philip Marie - a lovely restaurant with the most charming waiters, reasonable prices and good food. On Tuesday nights, they have a special two-course dinner for less than $20.
