If you are using something like frontline or other vet prescribed flea medicine. Just curing the dogs, changing your linen, and vacuuming your rugs should do the trick. With no hosts the flea will be gone. And with a second treatment next month, you will have taken care of any eggs as well. Your vet is the best source of info on this. Most over the counter remedies are a waste of time.

I had a similar problem, but I didn't want to bomb the house because I have a little kid and don't like the idea of that stuff being all over everything etc.. We don't have carepets, so we just treat all the animals with revolution, washed all the bedding and clothes that the animals had access to , washed the curtains because our cats like to be in the window, and vacumed our furniture. By the next treatment we were flea free! Though I did have to give the dogs oatmeal bathes to help relieve the itching.

You need to move plants and fish out the room while you spray with most products, but can usually return them after a couple of hours and after the room's been aired.

Don't use any store-bought products, for the house or the puppies because they won't work. Get something from a vet - if the pups are under 4.4lbs/8 weeks old it will have to be the spray version of Frontline.
