My parents had a neighbor who was a physician and whose wife died in the middle of winter. They wanted to bury her in Minnesota. So they froze her until the spring thaw, then took her to Minnesota and had the burial.

The way your question is phrased, no rational human would say no -- except of course, me, since I am not 100% rational when it comes to cats. Still, I guess the reluctance to say that you might be kind of silly even on my part seems to stem from the fact that, on the way to burying the cat, something could happen, and then you could wind up being buried the same day as the cat. So I'm kind of wondering if, given that the snowstorm will pass -- and given the fact that poor old Bev was put on ice for MONTHS -- I'm just kind of wondering if you couldn't keep this little sweetie pie in a cool place until the roads are clear, and you can make the journey safely.

I guess you didn't give much information with the question, and so no one who reads it can hear from you how important this cat is and how limited your time is, that the journey to bury him is so necessary at this particularly treacherous moment.

For my part, I would travel across the country to bury a cat I loved. That is not even the issue. You know, Bev was important to her husband, but he froze her until the journey was reasonable.

Don't know if this helps. I kind of think this question was posed by the person who does NOT want to go. And I hope this helps resolve some issues.

It would all depend on the circumstances and the type of snow. If it were an ice storm, yes. However, if a close relative died, you would you also drive 180 miles for the funeral? A cat can be just as loved as any relative or family member, as it is a member of the person's family.

Don't let others who know nothing about the situation judge.

Only if your destination is too cold to dig the dirt to bury it.
