Is it true that after the six day war, Israel annexed twenty-eight villages that historically were part of the West Bank and defined them as Jerusalem?

It is written in this article and Vice Prime Minister Haim Ramon has explained that none of the Jerusalem neighborhoods that would come under Palestinian sovereignty were ever part of Jerusalem and aren’t now.

And the Israelis still argue that Jerusalem is all theirs and they don't want to "give up" a part of it! Dud!

To the first answerer, the Arabs (not Muslims) wouldn't have to give anything back to the Jews because they didn't steal any of their possesion. If that happened, the Arabs would have succeeded in protecting their land against the invadors.

MikeInRI, yes Jerusalem should be independet and not under any nation's control, so why did they make it the capital of 'Israel' then? Tel aviv should be the capital and jerusalem should be an independent city that is open to all nations and religions

Mr. X,
there is no prove that the Arabs started the war in 1967. The Arabs deny that and if you give me wikipedia as a source, I would tell you that anybody can add to or delete from wikipedia as they want. I don't believe the Arabs started the war in 1967 and even if they did, that wasn't my question. You didn't answer my question

Let us think. Hmm. The Muslim countries started a war they lost and Israel annexed the land. Seems fair to me but now Muslims want to whine and cry about it. Hey if you (I might be making a wrong assumption here but so be it) guys would have worked with Israel in the beginning then everyone might have been happy but instead a war was started. Then another war and another. Each time you guys lost. Can't you figure out that you have no claim to the land now?
You know, I don't know why Muslims think Israel should give back the land we won in a war you guys started. Seriously! If Mexico went to the US and said "Hey we didn't mean it and asked for parts of the USA back, no one would expect them to give it back but the world moans about Israel "taking land from Muslims". Well, duh! Muslims preach about eradicating the country of Israel and you think we will just hand back the land. Give me a break!
Jerusalem belongs to Israel and always will. There are many of us who will fight and die to make sure it remains that way. Our G-d is the ancient G-d of Israel. You guys follow some pedophile that was a nut job and kill innocent people in his name (not you specifically I am sure but certainly extremists do).
Oh yeah, you guys have a claim to Jerusalem. NOT!
By the way, when Jerusalem was under Muslim control, Jews were not allowed to pray at the wall. Now Jews have control but gee, we allow Muslims on the Mount. Hmm? Seems we are much more fair to the Muslim Arabs than they ever were to us.
And, you are getting your information from someones blog? Ok. Well, that makes sense. Try reading a history book that is not biased against Israel or biased against "Palestine" and then you will learn something, the truth.

Let's reflect a bit from afar about Jerusalem and about the Jewish conflict in general.
Through out history, Jews relied almost exclusively on external powers for survival and almost entirely on aggression patterns...

Would it be hard to conclude why they are not welcomed wherever they settle?

Their claim to absorb Jerusalem and many of the Arab territories is nothing new, it only solidifies and enforces he irreversible hatred not necessarily from the the surrounding Arabs but also from all human rights advocates as in the case of the American girl who an Israeli Tank ran over and killed horribly just because she expressed opposition to the barbaric Israeli immoral oppression of land grab ..

Everyone is responsible for the outcome of their reactions :

" Thou Shall be awarded by thy Actions, an Atom weight compensation for as much good deed , similar compensation for as much bad deed"

If I wish the oblivion of Israel, I would suggest Israel maintain claim to Jerusalem and its surrounding and all occupied Arab land Golan included.
It's divine!
It's written in the original Divine Books .
There is no escape from Reality.

The Ottoman Empire or Ottoman Caliphate (1299–1922)

After the dissolution of the Ottoman Empire in 1922, this territory was part of the British Mandate of Palestine. The 1948 Arab-Israeli War saw the establishment of Israel in parts of the former mandate, while the West Bank was captured and annexed by Jordan. In 1967 the West bank was a part of The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
The wise king of Jordan DUMPED IT, SO IN REALITY ITS ISRAELS LAND NOW.
Or if you chose it belonged to the Ottoman Empire than to the British, than to Jordan NOW ITS PART OF ISRAEL, the Arabs might get some back when Israel and the world will belive there is somebody to talk to.

Jerusalem wasn't the Arabs to have - but they took it in 1948. It was suppose to be an independent city under international law not the subject to any nations control. After the 1967 war and Israel gain control of the Old City of Jerusalem it was finally made a city open to all religions - as the UN had intended. Good Luck!!!

The jews flourish in the U.S.,the U.K. and the Dominions. They do not need to steal land from Syrian and Palestinians. They will not endure, and I would not be surprised to see tel aviv go the way of Beirut, only worse. Not just reduced to shambles but utterly destroyed.

i'm an corporation believer interior the actuality that Israel would not choose the U. S. almost as lots because of the fact the U. S. desires Israel. The international locations of the international would be judged via God on how the taken care of Israel. We would desire to proceed to be a staunch pal of Israel, if we want for God to observe out for us.

Point of fact first: Egypt blockaded the port of Eilat and claimed to mine it prior to any shot being fired. This is an act of war as defined in international law. As Israel's airstrike happened only after this blockade, Egypt and hence the Arabs started the war. Besides for that, they were first to call up reserves and first to stock the border with troops. It is quite clear that they had every intention to attack Israel; in fact, it has been deduced that the attack was actually to occur the very day Israel struck. But that is after all only a side note.
I am no expert on what you state, but I will say that the borders of Jerusalem are oft-contested.

I don't think you know how important jerusalem is to the jews.
it's like taking away mecca from the muslims.
why is it so important to the palestinians to have jerusalem that is what I want to know? - I mean Israel allows every religion to come to Israel and to jerusalem to pray and to worship and live so what is the problem? why can't Israel have jerusalem?? it is already giving up land it annexed fairly and it is offering more land above so that jerusalem can stay in Israel that's what the peace process is about - letting the other side win a little that is why Israel has given much more then was expected of it in camp david
