Like Pine 2x4's. I really just want to know if it's harmful to my health as well as my families.

No. I would suggest you find an alternative wood source. The sap from the pine forms creosote in your chimney which can cause chimney fires and burn your house down.

Also, if enough of it is burned, the fumes from the burning wood can make you sick.

My father always tried to burn scrap wood in the fireplace but I had to stop him because he didnt realize that it made him sick, as well as the creosote issue.

Sure, just don't burn a Christmas tree, you'd catch the house on fire. Christmas trees just burst into a ball of flame. We burn boards all the time. Pine wood burns fast, fast, fast. It is non-aroma type of firewood and like the first answer said, it creates a lot of creote, soot and ash.

Are you trying to make meth or what?? That is basicaly what you are going to do if you do that. You never ever cook a chemical. If you are looking for something to really add a wonderfull smell to your house, get a couple green apples, a couple oranges, some clove, and even some cinnamon. Just slice up your apples and oranges and boil everything together for a while - your house will smell sooo good. But it really is not safe to boil a chemical, you change the composistion of it, and it will not do what you think it will. It just doesn't work that way. Chemicals are not something to mess around with. Pine sol is a really bad thing to play around with. If you want that lemon smell, try boiling fresh lemon, but it won't give off the same scent.

Only if throughly dry, over many months.
Otherwise the sap will accumulate in the chimney and create a fire hazard.
