i need to ask again, what do you take as literal in the bible? someone just asked why gays dont repent. do the wealthy need to become paupers? or is this a passage you choose to ignore, or try to twist its meaning, or call it allegory. the religous right should include the wealthy along with their gay bashing. its not fair to cherry pick the passages you like, and deny others.

The point of the passage is not in any way to be considered condemning. In the Jewish writings the use of the "eye of the needle" is as a picture of a very small place, "A needle's eye is not too narrow for two friends, but the world is not wide enough for two enemies." The ludicrous contrast between the small size of the needle's eye and the largest indigenous animal is to be preserved for its very improbability. But beyond impossibility is possibility with God! In other words God only needs the sinner to open up just a crack for him and God will come pouring in and set up room for an oasis. God only needs a 'foot in the door', so to speak, no matter what the issue is.

"i need to ask again, what do you take as literal in the bible?"

Camels can't literally pass through the eye of a needle. Perhaps literal was not the word you meant to use.

"do the wealthy need to become paupers? or is this a passage you choose to ignore, or try to twist its meaning, or call it allegory. the religous right should include the wealthy along with their gay bashing. its not fair to cherry pick the passages you like, and deny others."

No sinful person is able to judge another sinful person because we are all on the same grounds. It does not matter who you are, or what your sin of choice is, you are still imperfect and have room for improvement.

"Gay Bashing" Is never something I've taken part in, although I believe the Bible speaks clearly against homosexuality. Living for money is equally as bad, and that's another point in the Bible. All sins are equal to God.

And remember, God never defined what "rich" was. This is because the verse has more to say about greed than the amount of zeros on your paycheck. You can work at McDonalds and be greedy, right?

The Needle was a small gate in the walls of Jereseleum where the camels had to go through on their knees. So it was possible for a camel to go through the gate or a rich man to get into heaven, but it involved getting on their knees.

People who are wealthy are more likely to be self sufficient. They have more opportunity to become both self absorbed and arrogent.

Can anyone have the spirit of Christ and hold onto more than they need when people are dying for want of food, shelter and the gospel? So if someone is living their faith will they stay rich?

Jesus was not saying that his followers should be paupers, but that we shouldn't allow what we have (or can make) to get in the way of our relationship with him.

True that we are too quick to gay bash and too slow to warn the rich.

Technically, passing a camel through the eye of a sewing needle is possible. However, with current technology that is available, we cannot accelerate anything to go as fast as the speed of light. But at that point, the camel would turn into energy, and it would be very easy to channel that energy through the eye of a needle.

Still, this doesn't diminish the point Jesus was making about how hard it would be for a rich man, whose desires are set upon those riches, to receive any significant degree of glory in heaven.

It is really not a matter of what we think or how we twist things. We are not the judge and therefore our opinion does not count. One sin is not any better or worse than the other. The Bible tells us that there is only one sin that will not be forgiven and that is blasphemy of the HOLY SPIRIT. The Word further explains that anything we put ahead of GOD is sin. Furthermore we, as Christians, are merely called to tell people about GOD. That involves giving them your eyewitness account of what has happened to you. For those who do not believe, that is their choice. The short answer is that we all need to repent since none of us come close to showing the love for others that JESUS did on the cross.

Jesus was referring to the rich people that ( I believe DID NOT GIVE TO THE CHURCH OR HELP WITH POOR AND HELPLESS ) Jesus wants us to prosper. Not only in finances but health also. It speaks many times in the Bible about prospering.
Who has been gay bashing ? I haven't seen any on here. I did tell what the Bible says and it was not said out of malice.I only give the truth on here and if it touches someone then maybe it's kind of like a warning of the coming days and Jesus return. NO bashing, just the truth.

Why do you think that the bible is completely literal in everything. If you are not borne again (borne from above) you will never understand the bible.

Joh 6:63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

Gays don't repent because they are in spiritual bondage to sexual sin, as are fornicators & adulterors,

the wicked are an abomination before HOLY GOD.
GOD is not a man. nor a liar.
the love of MONEY is Idolatry.
and gay men lust one another is against nature of the creation as well defiled their spirit with demons the have a soul tied(marriaged to demon) and defiled the flesh..which bring on DISEASES and death follow when sin continue.
GOD said..awake to RIGHTEOUSNESS (right standning before GOD throughCHRIST) and SIN NOT.
'but continue in sin..well..free will is your right..and death is at their door.

the camel thorugh an eye of a needle
is telling about the gateway into a city that shape like an needle..it was design to stop people on camel from entering into the city..only the bare back camel can enter in.
GOD is HOLY..therefore YOU be HOLY.
the truth will set you free.
how can evil be good?
and good be evil?
how can north be south and south be north.
if you accept a lie to be truth..then come back to the truth. and the truth'will set you free of deception and pride to get rid of pride..humility come first and THEN GOD will heal you deliver you and bless you..of your obedience as well your NEW belief IN HIM>

exciting concern. i'm throwing in my answer which basically confirms what every person else has already chanced on. the superb minimum diameter required is 0.89561139330654. First, we comprehend that the "waist" of the unit tetrahedron is a sq. of facets a million, or a diagonal of ?2, so as that the trick is getting the attention or ring over a minimum of two of the vertices, the minimum diameter ring required being someplace between parallel to between the unit edges (requiring diameter = a million) and to between the faces (requiring diameter = (2/3)?3 = a million.1547). permit x be the backside of the isoceles triangle bypass element of the unit tetrahedron passing with the aid of between the vertices. the facets of that triangle bypass section is y = ?( (3/4) + ((a million/2) - x)² ). We hire Heron's formulation (or in simple terms locate out altitude to artwork out section A--the two way works) to locate the circumdiameter of this bypass section triangle: D = (a million/2)(x y²) / A the place A = element of triangle. The minimum for it is chanced on with the aid of the everyday calculus means, ensuing in a cubic root for x, this is plugged returned into the above formulation for the superb fee of 0.89561139330654. there's a precise expression for this fee, even inspite of the undeniable fact that it is an uninteresting mess, and that i haven't been waiting to chop back it lots. so a techniques, besides. The cubic equation to sparkling up for x right it is: 3x³ - 6x² +7x - 2 = 0 the place x = 0.39125971029558 is the cost we choose. The hyperlink shows the mandatory diameter of the attention from a million to (2/3)?3, with the minimum at 0.8956, as defined interior the 1st paragraph. Edit: This does propose a threat of a toy puzzle, the place a stable ring hangs from the waist of a stable tetrahedron, which isn't precisely a real tetrahedron. After the hoop is taken off, it extremely is a puzzle to locate the thank you to place it returned on. Hmm, i think of i like this thought. perhaps locate information on the thank you to make this even trickier? Edit 2: this style of toy "warped" tetrahedron could have 24 information on the thank you to objective slipping the hoop over, wherein there'd be basically a million way for it to be authorized. combine that with a marginally warped ring (perhaps of an ornamental toroidal shape), so as that it extremely is a protracted time earlier one finally unearths the thank you to make it slip over to the waist. one that is already experienced with this style of toy ought to coach to others how actual he slips off the hoop, and then palms the products to others for them to objective rejoining them.

Hpoe I get this posted before all the cut and paste maniacs strike again....

As far as Jesus was/is concerned holding on to your earthly possessions such as material possessions...sexual orientation...etc...makes it appear as if you would put your very short physical life ahead of the life you could have after death in heaven...the promises of the riches of heaven are supposed to hold more value to you than anything in your physical life on this planet...

Think of it this way...someone comes to you and says hey I can guarantee you an eternity of life without need...riches beyond your imagination....you will never grow old...never suffer from anything...but there is a small price...what would that be worth to you???
