There are no scriptural references specifically dealing with your question. But here are a few thoughts: one, Luke, who wrote the Gospel of Luke and the Book of Acts, was a doctor and I believe he used his medical skills as best he could. There is no scripture to prove or disprove this. Two, very few of the early believers had a medical background. Most were farmers, fishermen, or tradesmen/businessmen according to the records we do have. Third, I don't know of many medical missionaries before the time of Dr. Hudson Taylor who combined medical skills with a passion to share the Gospel with the Chinese of his day. One story is told of how Dr. Taylor removed a cataract from the eye of a Chinese nobleman. Finally, disciplines such as anatomy & physiology were little known anyway, and besides, if I'm not mistaken, the doctors had to use the principles of Galen, whose knowledge was somewhat limited.
As for A&P these days, why not look at the websites of some of the missions agencies: www.sim.org, and others. Someone said God needs doctors as well as ministers, and I think that is so true. Besides, with a knowledge of A&P, you could do a lot more good than someone who doesn't have such knowledge. I can find a piece of cloth and stop the bleeding, maybe, but as far as knowing what to do about the rest, I don't have a clue.
