NO SIR
your Deuteronomy IS OLD testament..
and has no value much today..
and today it is and has been proven NONSENSE,,...
there are now health laws that restricting some of these foods,,,
but not for religious reasons ...
BUT pure food facts...
The religious laws were discovered and enforced by association and human values placed on the animals,,, NOT FACTS
the Asian community has eaten those foods for many millenniums..but were mostly isolated from the Jews and following Christians, and the m's
religous nonsense not having much to do with todays cooking... "the earth is not flat"...

Leviticus and Deuteronomy are books in the old testament. Christians follow the New Testament as these where written after Christ was on earth.

I eat shrimp, lobster and crab; I can't eat clam or oysters or any other type of mollusk because I am allergic to them.

This is a copy and paste from a question I posted the other day but it answers your question. I see this brought up a lot in here so I feel the need to clarify. Many times nonbelievers bring up the old testament law about stoning and such. They call Christians hypocritical for not following everything. However as Christians we are no longer under the old testament law. This is made clear in Romans. When you become a Christian Because of what Christ did we are no longer under the law. This means we no longer need to follow the old testament law and dietary commands. Just to make this a question I will ask do you understand this? Can you now understand why we no longer follow the law? I know many of you feel the Bible is fictional but I want you to understand the Christian viewpoint. Romans 7:4 Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God. Rom 7:5 For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death. Rom 7:6 But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter. Curtis: It was Peter who had that vision not Paul.

yep, I do ........ but the mosaic law was no longer needed after Christ came and died for our sins. The Mosaic law, was a law leading to the Christ. Do you see anyone now and days following the rest of the laws stated in Lev and Deut? Why only point this one out to make some type of judgement of others?
