when my dog eats she gets her food out of her bowl like just a few pieces and lays them on the ground then eats them one at a time...like...its weird she gets her food out of her bowl to eat it and then she cleans up every crumb...we think she may be part coyote and shes a VERY intelligent dog...does anyone else's dog do this? i normally know A LOT about dogs but idk why she does this kind of behavior?

Both of my chihuahuas do this. They take a peice or 2 go over to the rug, and sit and eat it, go back, get another piece, back to the rug. Etc.
Our dachsund simply eats over the bowl.

This is very normal and most dogs do it, like mine. Since my dog is still little we have food everywhere in the house and it's just crazy but we are used to it, Hopefully your dog is more intelligant and older, But I think I could fix this somehow when she is older. Good Luck!

Yeah my dog is like that too. What I do is if they take in out of the bowl put it back in. Soon they learn that is is their bowl. They only take it out of the bowl if they are loyal. Hope it helps Lily~

My dog will run over to the rug with her food. She knows better too, because she will look at me sideways before she does it.

My dog did the same thing. He used to eat purina dog chow. He took one peice one by one and ate it slowly. I switched him to Canidae and he doesn't do it anymore. Not quite sure why.

My dobie did that when she was a pup but grew out of it. Reinforce that the bowl is where her food belongs....she'll catch on...
