well, dogs always lick themselves. but as far as seeing discharge from her vagina, you will see that for several weeks. it is normal for it to be green while she is having the pups, but after she is all done it will be bloody for several days and eventually lessen until it is a pinkish discharge. you should have counted all the placentas to make sure she expelled all of them. sometimes a placenta can get retained inside the mom. this will cause an infection and can eventually kill the mom. the biggest way to know if it is normal discharge or not is the way it smells. i know - gross - but true. it should not have a foul, nasty, putrid smell. if it smells like something dead then she has an infection. otherwise it will not smell real pleasant but shouldn't make you wanna puke either. just like after a human has a baby. there will be blood for a while. let her lick herself, this is normal. that means she is feeling well enough to care about how clean she is.

good luck with mom and pups.

Even if she has finished having pups and afterbirth and no infection, she is still lic king, she could cause a secondary infection., very painful to the dog and annoying to you. Should have her and pups checked by your vet 1 to 2 days after giving birth no matter how delivery went

hopefully she has passed all the afterbirths or she could fall ill. Many times they excrete a green liquid...nasty. I have seen them drip fluid weeks after giving birth if not everything is cleaned out from the birth
