Friend,

Shri is a powerful syllable in Sanskrit.

It means as follows:

Shri means that which gives shelter (ashrayam)....The Parasakti gives ashrayam to Shiva.
Shri also means that which takes shelter (Ashrayam)....Paraskti takes shelter of Shiva.
So Shiva Shakta yukto idi bhavati....Shiva and Shakti are always combined and are one as sun and sun light.

Jai means short form of Jayam (victory)

jai is used to praise or hail a thing or person or a land like Jai Hind, Jai Maata. Jai Hanumaan
