okay im getting a ps3 and i all i no whats diffrent between the 80 gb and the 40 is that the 80 just holds more stuff..can any one tell me the major diffrences or is there ne

This question is an often one, so that's my cut & paste answer:
1). 20GB has no chrome trim, no memory card reader and no wi-fi. Not manufactured anymore. Has the best backwards compatibility with PS2 games due to Emotion Engine (PS2's CPU) and Graphics Synthesizer (PS2's GPU) installed.
2). NTSC 60GB has the same backwards compatibility as 20GB version, also has memory card reader and wi-fi. Has a chrome trim.
3). 80GB - extended memory, but reduced backwards compatibility with PS2 games, it has only Graphics Synthesizer (PS2's GPU). Around 80% of PS2 games can be played. Available only in NTSC regions.
4). 40GB - can't play PS2 games at all (all PS2 chips were removed), has 2 USBs instead of 4, no memory card reader, has wi-fi. Avalable in black and white colors. White is on sale only in Japan. Uses 65nm technology (lower power consumption). Improved cooling system. It's the latest version.
5). PAL 60GB - reduced backwards compatibility with PS2 games. it has only Graphics Synthesizer (PS2's GPU). Around 80% of PS2 games can be played.
Wi-fi included in all models, except 20GB.

Which 80 gb PS3? the single that has backward compatibility or the single that would not? If it is for the backward compatibility, i'd upload 2 or 3 good video games. If it is for the non-backward one, i'd purely upload approximately 20 greenbacks. there is purely about no distinction between the 40 gb and the non-BC 80 gb apart from the bigger annoyingchronic. As you recognize, annoying drives have become extra value-effective and extra value-effective.

The 80gb has multimedia card slots, you know, for the memory cards from cameras, camcorders, etc. has 4 usb's, plays most ps2 and ps1 games, but the 40gb version doesn't have multimedia card slots, only 2 usb's, can't play ps2 games, but can play very very very limited ps1 games. Hope this helped. I'm 500% positive these facts are correct.

8o gb plays some ps2 games 40 gb plays none. Only two ubs slots on 40gb

40 has NO backwards compatability.
THE 80 GB has backwards compatability.

i heard the 80gb plays all ps2 games, the 40gb sometimes doesnt play some of them.
