Hey I normally have a lower body temp than 98.6... usually around 98 or so. IS this weird? Is there any implications good or bad on your health?

Maybe i'll live longer because my body is a little cooler? You know like a refrigerator??? :)

98.0 is very normal. 98.6 is just an average.

A 98 degree temp is still very much within the normal range.
I have Hypothyroidism and my temp is always around 97.3.
I really would not worry about a .6 of a degree lower.

Some people normally run higher temps 99.0 and it is considered normal. If my body temperature goes that high I feel really sick.

No evidence to suggest you will live any longer with a lower temp.

It's a classic sign of low thyroid, which is fairly common.
It's not good for your body to be cooler than normal. It impairs function of enzymes and other processes. If thyroid is low, you can gain weight, lose hair, become depressed, feel fatigued, etc. Get it checked if you suspect.
Uhm (response to below), 97 is maybe not uncommon, but certainly NOT within "normal limits". It indicates something going on with the thyroid pathway (thyroid, hypothalamus, 5-deiodinization, RT3, etc.).
Twice in the past 10 yrs, the AACE (Am As. of Cert. Endrocrinologists) has widened the definition of what constitutes "normal" in regard to thyroid, so it's getting a closer look these days by MDs.

98.6 is just an average; body temp will vary throughout the day and from day to day. Anything between 97.6 to 99.6 is normal.
