I am a member of the National Guard. I am currently serving in Iraq for the second time. My mother is my primary care giver to my daughter on my Family Care Plan. She is having a tough time due to some medical issues and really needs me home to take care of my daughter. I need to know the process of getting back home where I am needed.

If your mother is currently unable to properly care for your daughter she needs to contact the local chapter of the American Red Cross. They will evaluate the situation and send a message to your command with their recommendations. This process is really very quick and normally takes a few days or less.

You need to talk to your chain of command if your family care plan isn't working.
If not your mother may need to call the red cross to get you home on an emergency basis...they might give you time to straighten out your family care plan if not they will most likely start a chapter. Good luck
