I went to H&R last night...and the lady was too busy talking about her trip to pay attention to what she was entering and she entered my income wrong, and it stated that I only make $2000 a year..so it denied me..then she was like.."Oh, no" and tried to go back on the browser, to enter the info correctly. Once she did, they allowed her to continue, but at the very end, although they gave me the card, she said only $5.00 would be put on it..BUT lucky me..I can have my paycheck direct deposit...WHATEVER...has anyone had this happen, and can I have this somehow fixed..I should be eligible, and it is at the fault of the tax preparer...Also, how can I trust them to pay attention to what they are doing when they prepare my taxes if they have made such a SIMPLE airheaded mistake??? HELP

The tax preparer should be able to override any such error. Sounds to me like that H&R temp worker just doesn't give a hoot.

However, why on earth do you want an advance ? Do you understand the horrid rates of interest you are paying on that advance ? H&R Block ain't a charity. They make a tidy profit on such advances.

This year at HR Block you do not have to be a prior client to qualify. You have to have a minimum of 10k income and there is some credit check but it has to be really bad. At our HR Block office if you are denied it prints out a letter right then. No waiting for it in the mail. I have had many more approvals than denials. All the denials have been for excessively bad credit. You need to bring in a pay stub from the last 30 days. IF you are not a prior client also bring in your 2007 return. Self employed bring in your Schedule C info. At Jackson Hewitt you apply and they give you a card. Then you have to call the number on the back of the card then next day to see if you were approved and if so for how much. So I am told.

You have to wait 30 days for a letter. Then call the number on the letter. after that they have to call the tech department to request that another application be submitted.
