cat question?

i know this is a really stupid question. but is there a such thing as a male calico? my stepmom said she had a male calico growing up and sold it and made alot of money. but i have had several people tell me that there is no such things as a male calico and there are only females..

im an owner of a 1 year old female calico. just curious.. thanks..

Yes, but it is a very rare occurrence, 99% of calicos (or close to that percentage) are genetically females.
Your mom isn't lying,.. I've heard of others owning male calicos too.

I myself had a pure red/orange FEMALE TABBY cat. Which is equally rare. Being they're usually all males.

yes there is such a thing as a male calico. They are very rare and a miracle if you get one and they are worth a lot of money.

They're not worth that much money because they aren't going to be used in breeding lines for any of the breeds.

Most males that are calico are sterile, having one that isn't won't be all that useful because the kittens will be mixed breed, just plain mutt cats. The myth they're worth a lot is that PT Barnum offered a lot for one but never paid out for any, everyone remembers that they were 'worth something' but really, who would buy one just because it's male?

Your Mom is right there are male calico Cats, but 99% of the time they are sterile.

It might be true but I think your mom is definitely right about male calico's...why wouldn't there be a male? That's almost impossible!

yes there is a male calico thy are hard to come by I have 1 running my neighborhood it is a wild cat will not let anyone near it I tried to get it.
