They made it into a monument and gravesite but why did they remove the guns, battery turrets and all other parts of it that lay above water?

The 14 inch guns which were removed were reused in shore installations. Link below.

A few of the guns were left in place.

Of the other guns temoved).50 cal, 20mm, etc) most were simply cleaned up and reused.

Navy Salvage Teams first removed all ammunition for SAFETY, then stripped and removed the guns (main & secondary) for use on other ships, and the superstructure and other instrumentation were removed because they were valuable for reconditioning and reuse in other vessels.

It was rusting and starting to become hazardous. Most of what was removed and not reused elsewhere is stored on Ford Island.

to put them in different museums around the world.. there is some in the PIMA AIR AND SPACE museum in Tucson, AZ

Hazards?!! rust on surface water a contaninate too? i know not to many fish in area because of rust issue...
