That sounds kind of weird, that many megapixels should have a higher price tag.On Cnet they have cameras that are a little higher than $100,like $130,and it is 7 megapixels.

Iv'e seen them for a little over $100. Mostly $170 or so. But that is not a bad price considering 3 years ago I bought on with 5 mega pixals for $178. Look around. You will find a good deal. You might want to check out newegg.com if you don't mind ordering online. I'ts a great consumer electronic website.

Canon makes the terrific, maximum universal component-and-shoot cameras, inclusive of a few astonishing ones on your budget. I even have related to a minimum of one that would healthful - the Canon A570IS. It has a large 4x optical zoom and image stabilization. in case you could circulate to $275 or so, you may get lots extra progressed instruments. eg the Canon SD800 Cameras like this are a commodity. this is, in case you circulate to any enormous shop, you will discover those cameras at an outstanding cost. they are actually not expert products.

Yes, but megapixels is a poor way to judge cameras. Pretty much above 6mp, you can't see it in images at any of the commonly printed sizes.

Nikon L11 is 6mp and $88 here:

And the Nikon L14 is 7mp for $109 here:

Don't forget... you get what you pay for. Although today's camera's are getting pretty cheap, an 8mp camera for under $100 bucks sounds too cheap for me. I'd skip that and save a few more pennies. Just my two cents worth

I guess it's very possible; but do expect a crappy lens to go with that many megapixels for $100-

Try Frye's. But yeah, I just saw an ad for 8 mgpixel cam for like $97.

Check e-bay. They have their stores/associates...I just bought a brand new Waterford vase for 1/2 retail.
