I'm getting married in Florida next year, wondering if anyone can tell me how much it would cost to hire just one guitarist to play for a half an hour for a wedding. Any guestimates???
Thanks!

I would guess that you could expect to pay anywhere from $75-$300 depending on experience. I would suggest calling local churches, a lot of church musicians also do weddings. I would not suggest to call music schools because the student may not be familiar with wedding ceremonies and you definitely want someone that has some experience on your special day.

Good luck!

It can cost anything. I mean you could go to a local college and find someone majoring in music or you could try to hire Eric Clapton. I mean seriously the price here could range from $50 to thousands depending on who you get and what you are expecting them to play. Specialty bands (like a spanish sound) may cost more.

Call around and see if someone has a friend. If you are getting married in a church, ask if the church has any members that play guitar.

I've heard a guitar at a wedding and it sounded really pretty. They kept the songs simple so it was a nice touch. If you are having that small of a wedding, an organ might be a little much. I think the guitar is a great alternative.

find out where there is a local music school (college level), call and ask if they have students who play weddings.. probably safe to say it will be at least $100.. ask for rates, might be a 1 hour charge minimum.. may as well get the full hour for your money
