If we got offended so easily.... would we keep coming back? :)

Not really. I do get annoyed, though, because there are so many users coming here just to stir up trouble. I really do not get what their problem is. No one is holding a gun to their head and telling them to subscribe to certain beliefs.

I don't get upset if someone has a question about my beliefs, but... I do have a problem with questions and answers that specifically target Christians only to infuriate them. On just about every question in this section, you'll see something like: "I don't believe in God, so he doesn't exist." Um, OK. If you don't believe in God, why are you answering a question about God?

It's not so much the attacks on my beliefs-- it's the fact that many of the questions/answers here are from people who are just looking for a fight.

No
Well most of the time no but If I get too offended I just get away from it for awhile. I guess the disrespect toward Christians is the most offensive to me.

If I were "easily offended", I'd have left a long time ago.
I have let my feelings get hurt occasionally, but I get over it fairly quickly.
I simply remind myself that I am not always a shining example of the love of God, either...and drop the rocks I'm carrying, if you understand me...
Anger helps no one, and only hurts our credibility.

Mostly, it makes me very very sad to see so many people so full of hate.
How it must grieve the great heart of God!

I am not offended easily. Becoming a Christian has made my skin thicker... I feel sadness and not anger.

Not at all.
I just assume non Christians are just not aware of the truth.
Most have not done the research. Some have and still reject but most haven't.
Hard to know the truth when you haven't done the research.

Nay, in all these things we are more than conqerors through him that loved us". - (Romans 8:37)

"Fret not thyself because of evil doers, neither be thou envious at the workers of iniquity. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb. Trust in the Lord, and do good........delight thyself in the Lord, commit thy way unto Him, and He shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgement as the noonday. ...Fret not because ....of the man who brings wicked devices to pass,....for evildoers will be cut off, but they that wait upon the Lord shall inherit the earth..... The wicked plots against the just, and gnashes upon him with his teeth. The Lord shall laugh at him, for He sees his day coming." Psalm 37

Honestly...NEVER.

As a Christian I do my best not to operate out of a spirit of offense.

Here's my scriptural basis for such a thing:

Psalms 119:165, "Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them."

04383 mikshowl {mik-shole'} or mikshol {mik-shole'}
--meaning stumbling block

Matthew 11:6, "And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me."

4624 skandalizo {skan-dal-id'-zo} ("scandalize")
Stumbling block is one meaning....

If we operate in a spirit of offense--we find fault, criticism and negative judgement against those who are answering questions in a negative way.

My question to myself is: Am I operating out of a spirit of love?

1 Corinthians 13:5, "(LOVE) Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;"

1 Corinthians 13:7, "(LOVE)Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things."

I look to the REASONS why someone is acting in offensive ways--sometimes it is for attention, sometimes out of ignorance (lack of knowledge/accurate information) and sometimes the person is so damaged that this is the way they have learned how to relate to everyone around them.

It is really taking the "high road" not to look down at one's nose at others who have a negative attitude.

I simply try my best to see the good in a person--even when they themselves can see no good around them--because I am commanded to love--even as Christ loved.

Frankly, it is a fact of life that everyone will have different opinions and perspectives from my own--this does not diminish my own beliefs, perspectives and opinions, therefore I find no reason to be offended by anyone's contrary statements.

It does bother me how some people will get a legitimate answer to their question, but would rather pick an answer they themselves would have given. But offended no.

No, I just realized that Christians have not 'cleaned up' Christianity' yet. (Satan provides tests for 'Christians' (past and present) and not all of them 'pass' the tests).
