Your hair does have a 'natural red tone' to it, or it wouldn't have come out 'orange' ...
Go to a GOOD hairdresser to get your hair bleached ... the hairdresser will do a 'test' on your hair to see what color the dye or bleach s/he is using will come out. I too have a 'red tone' to my hair, and had it bleached to a beautiful 'light strawberry blonde' that looked very natural ... and you could barely see that 'strawberry' so it looked natural blonde. I suggest you go to an 'alternative hairdresser' and not a 'chain salon' or one for older women, to get the 'best haircolor' you can get. It's expensive, but your hair will look and feel much nicer, and you will seriously APPRECIATE it.

You need a toner that is going to tone it to blonde. If you just put bleach on it and don't tone it it'll turn orange because of the red in brunette. You may want to go to a beauty supply store and talk to the people that work there. They can suggest what you need.

You need a toner. I'd recommend having a professional do it, as you can really mess up your hair trying to go blonde yourself. Some hair types tend to be more brassy as they lighten (mine is) so you may not get all that red/golden tone out of it without completely destroying it.

My hair is naturally brown and thick, so I use 2 boxes of hairdye rather than one and it looks pretty nice.

If this doesn't work you should for sure ask a professional to do it.

You could always try bleaching it first, but i'd be too scared to do that!

Well if your hair is dark brown, then you can't go right to blonde. You have to lighten it gradually or else it will turn a weird color, so you would probably have to dye it light brown first, then keep picking lighter colors.

From what my sister and mom have done, you should get some hair bleach (not sink beach), and make you hair completely white, then die it any color you want with no difficuly. or have a professional do it.

I think you will need to bleach it. My hair is light blond, I wanted to die it white and I had to bleach it to do that.

I don't know.. i would just go to a salon, and I wouldn't do it yourself. That or just keep your beautiful healthy hair the way it is!

Happy Holidays!

The only way you're going to get it just right is if you have a professional colorist do it.

you need a bleaching kit. The box of hair dye wont just do it.
