Yes, Limewire is a file sharing protocol. It, in it's self isn't illegal, but sharing copy written material is not legal. If you wish to share personal data, songs, personal pictures, or what ever, that is legal as long as there is not copy write involved.

Note: Use a anti-virus software as many files especially the '.exe', '.zip' files are infected with viruses especially in the file size of 817 Kb or whatever.
