I as a Catholic would like to know what that means, where do we teach a false Gospel when we read the Bible and our Gospels are taken from the Bible
Could you please explain what that means?

I am a Catholic and believe in the Church, but many people have said that quote and I was wondering what they were talking about

Chris that is what we believe in so why do you keep quoting a false accusation against the Church, where do you get your information from?

Well Chris you are spreading lies because the Catholic Church has never taught we "earn" our salvation. It is an inheritance (Galatians 5:21), freely given to anyone who becomes a child of God (1 John 3:1), so long as they remain that way (John 15:1-11). You can't earn it but you can lose the free gift given from the Father (James 1:17).

It's little Chris's private opinion, that's all. He actually knows nothing about what Catholicism teaches - he uses the chick tracts for his "info"
We know he is willfully ignorant - we should pray for him and his salvation, and that he stops embracing a feel good do nothing way of life.

If you believe in the bible you have to believe in the Pope and the Catholic Church including tradition .Tradition was used to canonize the Bible by the Catholic Church .Christ gave authority to the Catholic Church under the Holy Spirit to canonized the Bible. What criteria was used, tradition oral teaching passed on and the Catholic Churches beliefs, under the guidance of the Holy spirit. The Catholic Church canonized the bible under Christ’s authority. So how can any books be put into the bible that go against Catholic beliefs and teachings (or removed) . So then if you believe the Catholic Church is false and not Christian, that its doctrine is false, then bible has no meaning and the Catholic Church had no authority to put the bible together in the first place. You would then have to throw out your bible. The Catholic Church teaches the same now as it did then nothing new has been added if so tell me but you cant because you know nothing of Church history or the history of your Protestant faith. The early Church Father’s all celebrated the Eucharist and the sacraments and all believed it to be the Body Blood Soul And Divinity of our Lord Jesus Christ, as the Catholic Church does today. So who Gave the Authority to a , mentally unbalanced, diseased character Martin Luther hero of the Reformation. His intemperance, his persecution mania, his varying moods, were the origin of his permanent contradictions. Who gave him authority to add words to the Bible and remove 7 books and believe in his doctrine of Sola Scriptura which is found no place in the Bible. And all the made up doctrine that followed made up by men. Your either a Christian and believe the teachings of the Catholic Church or you are a hypocrite and heretic certainly not a Christian you see the word Christian was coined by a Catholic Bishop ordained By Peter himself and is a Catholic word.

My friend, suppose you look at your question from the view of a shopper.
A seller who is in the position of desiring to make a sale on order to add the results of the sale to his cash register must present a product that the buyer does desire. In this presentation it is great if the buyer will not ever change his mind about his purchase.
Is this not the position of all organized religions? Are they not trying to find buyers who will add money to the cash register that is the source of the funds to "Do God's work" based upon the decisions of the leaders of the organization?
If one sees the view of the separation of the church and state, the Catholic Church is the most successful. They are the only organized religion that has itself recognized as a state [independent nation with ambassadors to other nations]. Likewise it is the only state who's total funding for its national budget is sourced in the buying and selling of SOULS. Yes it is involved in investments and banking, but the investment funds and the banks got their money from the buying and selling of SOULS. That is quite an accomplishment of a single organized religion.
My friend with that all said, what others think about your desired religion or think about your desired religion should not effect you. The bible teaches "If they are not with you, leave tham alone". So just let them have their opinion and you can have yours. Just let them say and think what they want. That should be their problem and not yours and you will have a more enjoyable life.
Do learn to let go, over look the small things and just smile when you hear what you do not want to hear OK
Have a good day OK.

I have heard this also, and being a non-Catholic, I have no reason to refute it other than that I solidly believe it's wrong. Every branch of the faith has some mistake. None are perfect. If God wanted perfection, immediately and everywhere, it would be so. He lets people reach for Him, discover Him, as the Bible says, like a child. Infants learn to walk through trying and failing till they find the right method. Same for anything we undertake. If we search for God, He will let us find Him.

I am not an expert on this subject however....from my understanding the Catholic Church started changing things in the 1500's stated you need to pay for repentance etc...also the Catholic church has false idols and believes in infant baptism which is not from the Bible. The Catholic Church relies on works instead of Faith in Christ. Forgiveness of our sins is a gift, you can not receive it by works or being good!
I have several friends/acquaintances that were Catholic and have done some looking into and have been converted to true Christianity. If you would like some better info from those who have "been there done that" please let me know. You may want to search for some Cd's from Harvest Bible church in the Northern Illinois area. They did a series regarding Catholicism and the Bible, it was lead by a once Catholic believer (possibly a pastor).
Search with all your heart and He will reveal himself to you!

The Catholic Church does not practice salvation by using or a gospel of works The Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches that we are stored by using grace by faith that works by Love (Gal 5:6) Chris and different antiCatholics who refuse to learn the Catechism attempt to label all who do not practice that faith in isolation saves teaches a 'gospel of works" The Bible does not practice salvation by using remoted faith on my own Saving faith does not exist on my own yet is often observed by using wish and love and dedication to staying interior the state of grace

martin luther didn't like the epistle of james - which teaches the doctrine of works. he called it a 'straw epistle' and explained that it wasn't an important part of the bible.
since then protestants have left progressively more and more parts that they did not like out of the bible, so that now most protestant bibles are printed without any of the deuterocanonical texts.
when the original canon of the bible was being decided in the decades before 400 ad many well-regarded books were thrown out by the catholics because they did not like what they said. the acts of thekla were left out mainly because of tertullian's opposition. (tertullian thought that a book which showed a woman preaching the word was dangerous).
the catholics left out the books they didn't like.
then the protestants left out the books they didn't like.
pretty soon we should be able to produce the bible in pamphlet form.

which Catholicism teaching are you speaking of? ANGLICAN Catholicism or ROMAN Catholicism? there's a difference which you seem to be in denial of. i am roman catholic...care to share your Catholicism?
my point is when you claim belief in the "Church" are you referring to the Roman Catholic Church with the Pope as the visible and temporal head...or some other church?
i answered one of your questions where you accuse a catholic priest of e-mail abuse. an Anglican priest is NOT the same as a catholic priest like you claim. one has the authority to teach in His Name and the other doesn't. one is protestant and the other is catholic. so in order to answer your question you need to clarify which teaching you are asking for.

i think susan im asking a very valid question. ive asked you in private and you refuse to tell me your catholicism...why is that? YELLING at me is not going to make me go away.
you see one of my pet hates is catholics who accuse catholic priest of this and that as if catholic priest are superior species of the human race...they are human like like the rest of us. So which Catholicism are you referring to?

my only problem with Catholism is that they believe the church is the dispenser of Grace. This is unscriptural.
They also say that the CAtholic leadership is of apostolic succession. If you look at Christian history, there was no apostolic succession. The apostle's place was taken over by BISHOPS when they died. And they had neither the same calling not the same ministry of the apostles.

Hmmm... well, considering that most of the bible is made up of different pieces of other people's religion, and that the church has taken out/ severely edited portions that were in the originally documents and scrolls, I'd say that would be a big enough clue.
And you can thumbs down me all you want it just goes to prove that "YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!"
