The letters of the word AMBULANCE are printed backwards and are reversed in sequence so that they appear legible when seen in a rearview mirror. The driver of the vehicle ahead of ambulance can see the word AMBULANCE in correct order.
The image of individual letters in the mirror shows no right-left reversal. However, the nonsymmetrical letters show a front-back reversal, which appear as a top-bottom reversal.
The image of the vehicles behind appear laterally inverted. For the letters of the word ambulance to appear in correct order in the rear-view mirror, they are sequentially reversed and are written in the left-right reversed order.

It is written in reverse on the front of the ambulance so that driver's can look in their rear view mirror and see that it is an ambulance that they are failing to yield right-of-way for.

So that it appears written normally when seen in a mirror (especially a rear view mirror of a car) by someone driving in front of it, so that they know to get out of the way of the ambulance.

If you are in front of the ambulance using your mirror, it will appear correctly. Mirrors reverse images.
This goes back to the laws and courtesies of getting the h@&* out of the way of emergency vehicles! I know of no state where it is still not the law you pull to the side and stop to let them pass on most highways.

it is because of lateral inversion as it is written reverse so that the person who is driving he can read ambulance correctly as in the mirror left appears right and right appears left . And its the duty of everyone
to allow the ambulance pass without blocking of roads.

because its a code. i learnt that play and run, and pack and go, is a code as well as ambulance spelt backwards. its a code and no matter what code, it still has a serious meaning.
so its written in front because its more serious then play and run, and pack and go.
because sergical methods ae all codes so it's pretty easy to understand

There is always a reason for things being done differently, It's good exercise for the brain to try to deduce why and the answer to this question wasn't that difficult now, was it.

Because it will spell up correctly in your rear mirror that way when you're driving in traffic you can get out the way.
