i have service pack 1 and it would be nice if someone could tell me where i can get service pack 2 for windows XP.

Search for Microsoft Downloads. It will be there.
I advise you to follow the instruction TO THE LETTER or else you will mess your entire operating system and will have to stat again.
I would advise you to re-install your XP operating system and them install SP2. It is a large file so it will take time. It is 72Mb I think.
You must install it because lots of programs including anti-virus software rely on SP2. Good luck.

From Internet explorer
Click on tools
Windows Update.
This will look at your system and it should automatically install it after you approve it.
Don't do this over a dial up circuit.
If this does not work
go to Microsoft.com
in their search field type XP SP2

Go to the Microsoft web site and you can downloaded it from there. But before you download it make sure you are not infected with any virus or spyware, also it would be a wise to disable your virus protection when you download and install it and then you can enable it once the process is complete.

If your copy of xp sp1 is legal then sign up for windows automatic updates, sp1 should be automaticaly upgraded to sp2 on the next update, if your copy is not legal you can buy sp2 here

Im not sure.. but just wanna tell you that I heard some news that Microsoft is facing our WinXP starting 2008.
which means, patched and updates and supports are only until first few weeks of 2008 and then.. pooof! gone.. welcome vista.
anyway... go to your nearest MIcrosoft supply center and get a copy of winXP. hehehe
