I need a way to update the formula [=IF(B8=G5, C8-D8, 0)] for the next cell but keep G5 the same. If I drag the formula down it changes all of the cell numbers to the next row number. [ex. =IF(B8=G8, C8-D8, 0) as opposed to =IF(B8=G5, C8-D8, 0)].

You use absoulute addressing for G5.
Two ways to do this.
Use the $ sign. If you want to keep the Col and Row, both absolute, place a $ sign before each. Or before one or the other as desired.

Another way is place the cursor over the Cell address and use F4 key. You can toggle from one to the other by clicking again and again on F4.

Click on the formula, in the bar highlight G5. Click F4 once. It will look lik this $G$5. Copy your formula down. G5 stays at G5

say if you while draging if you dont want the column to be changed say for cell g5 use $g5 instead. if you want row not to be changed while draging say for cell g5 use g$5 if you want either of them should not change while draging use $g$5 this is called absolute reference.
