honestly I do not know what KBR is. Yet I do know, that I feel everyone is brave in there own way in life. wether they go to war, or wether they face the war here in the west . There is always war. Most of the time, unfortunately its neighbor against neighbor, and brother against father. poor against rich, country against country. It saddens me that society is focused so much on the differences between each other, rather then the similarities. So, I suppose my answer to the question is , I feel that almost everyone deserves a medal , just for living, including those KBR drivers, what ever that stands for.

I like them a lot, of course I was one. The KBR people do a necessary job well and are paid well for it. That is the cost of the peace dividend of President Clinton's administration. I had more than one soldier thank me for doing my job while I was deployed and was glad to do it.(and yes I kept the money) Driving truck in Iraq is damn dangerous and very exciting at times. The US military can no longer operate independently of PMC support and would fail in any long term mission without it. The best thing about PMC's is that when they are no longer needed they shut down, this eliminates the need to keep large support troops on duty and is a cost reduction issue.

i have had alot of problems with KBR here on Al Asad. the people who work for them are mostly decent, but as a company they are a sham. i am jealous of their employees because of how much they get paid/benefits/vacation time.

Mercenaries making money in the midst of incredible human misery.
Not mankind at its finest, but human greed is just human greed. Like the Gold Rush or speculating in stocks or whatever.
Not very admirable, but very human, is my opinion.
Calling them "heroes" really sticks in my throat. I don't recall heroes of the past collecting a pay check for each good deed.

Are they standard issue military personnel??
If not then do they deserve to be represented in the "military section" or in the "Incredibly brave but paid very high wages" section?? :-P

They can leave anytime they want & make good money, unlike the military personnel.
