They are different.
Nasal sounds are [ m ], [ n ], [ ñ ] (the sound in the middle of "canyon"), and [ ŋ ] (the sound at the end of "sing"). There are two or three more, but these are the most common ones. They are sounds that are made by closing the airstream off in the mouth and letting the sound come out through the nose.
A nasalized sound is another sound made in the oral tract, but with the nasal tract open as well so that some of the sound comes out through the mouth and some through the nose. The most common nasalized sounds are nasalized vowels such as [ ã ], [ õ ], etc. In English, we nasalize any vowel that comes in front of a nasal, so that "pond" is pronounced [ pãnd ]. We don't really recognize this since nasalization in English is completely predictable. In French, however, nasalization is not predictable, so you notice it more--there is a difference in meaning between [ bo ] and [ bõ ] in French ("beau" and "bon").
