im getting a ps3 and i just wanna know, do i have to be facing the ps3 to use the motion sensor in the 6 axis controller. cos i wanna play my ps3 in bed, and my bed isnt really facing my ps3.. its kinda sideways, so will the 6 axis come out wonky, or will it still be normal.

yes it will work. its not set up the same as the Wii mote, which uses sensors on the tv....and the sensors for the 6 axis are in the controller

In most of the games you can turn this function off and switch to sticks or buttons instead.
