How do you post a letter overseas? Do you need airmail stamps or are two normal stamps good enough?

A normal letter, with no strange sizes or shapes, and nothing strange inside of it, and not over an ounce will cost $.90. (these are just regular stamps, there are not air mail stamps any more) If you don't have any way of weighing it at home an ounce is about 8 pages of paper.
Anything over an ounce is about an extra $.90, (to a point, then the rate changes to what country you are sending it) but if you are going to send something overseas I would just go to a Post Office and have them calculate the postage for you. They can also give you more options about how to mail the letter, considering it can take up to 10 days for the letter to just get to the country, and then who knows how long it will take to get to the person.
Oh by the ways, this is only for letters being mailed from the US.
I work at the post office so sometimes its just easier to go to one and have them make sure you have all you need on your letter.

Normal size letter for overseas you need a 90cent stamp or number of regular stamps to equal at least 90 cents.

It depends where it's going - different countries cost different amounts in stamps. The weight makes a difference too. If you don't put enough stamps on, the person receiving the letter may have to pay double.
You should check at your post office - they can tell you the exact cost and sell you the correct stamps.

Hi Ziggy! Yes you will be fine. It is only when people place one stamp on that they get the hump. To be fair, Royal Mail will still deliver your large letter but will request further payment from the recipient at the other end...Hope this helps.

Ha ha! No, you need to go to the post office to find out how much stamps you need. They will give you an "Air Mail" sticker. Letters going to different countries need different amount of stamps. How much they weigh also counts.

1 stamp is good enough, unless it is a really heavy envelope. When in doubt, ask a clerk at the Post Office.
