I've heard many people claim that when God was "taken out of school" that was the beginning of violence in school, shootings in particular. But there have been at least three church shootings in the US in 2007--if the other idea is true, how would you explain that?

budleit2, I agree, the idea is not true. I'm curious how people who hold that idea explain church shootings. My opinion about public schools is they are in the shape they are in because there are no real consequences. Kids run the place, and they don't want to be there. If there were real consequences--like, no diploma=no driver's license--things might change. Ditto for real incentives. Schools could offer job placement and/or higher education placement services for graduates.

The other idea isn't true. I am a teacher and the reason why schools have fallen is because the kids basically run the school and if you try to discipline them the parents sue. Adults are not in charge any more. That is why I teach at a small charter school.

absolutely a good idea. the more they offer both skilled labor classes and academic classes the better off this country will be.

la buena bruja- yes absolutely I just love the charter school system. There can be bad ones but they eventually fall out of the system and don't make it just like a true market system. They are the perfect mixture between a public and private school.

I continualy bemoan the elimination of religion and morning assemblies in school. Pastoral care is essential for emotional and spiritual development of the young in an age where parents are busied trying to maintain household expenses and have little recreation time. Social and moral decay is the symptom of this. The family structure is dismantled and a people not only suffer identity crisis but feel displaced. Religion when well preached brings peace to all in the most harshest and adverse climes...where are all the protest groups gone.....

you're mistaking Christianity for a homogeneous team. the reality that we've diverse Christian denominations shows that may not the case. there are quite a few loud "Christians" who act in the way you defined. There are additionally extra rational Christians who do not come to a decision that each tragedy occurs as a results of fact God isn't being taken care of precise. i think of you will discover such Christians extra agreeable. i don't understand why loud Christians act the way they do. component of it extremely is in all probability as a results of fact they have been raised that way. i don't think of it extremely is reinforcing themselves lots as attempting (key be conscious attempting) to do what's nice. in case you incredibly have self assurance that not coaching Christianity in college is inflicting issues, then you definately're going to compliment faculties to coach Christianity. in case you incredibly have self assurance that being gay is resembling choosing eternal damnation, then you definately're going to compliment to help people "decide on" in any different case.

Budleit2- I teach at a charter school, too, and the parents back up the teachers. I teach inner city kids, and we if there's a potential problem, we handle it before it becomes a tragedy. I'm with you!

Murder is a Godless act no matter where it's committed. Even those who choose to murder in the name of God do so against His will.
