Bible says servants and children differ nothing.
Both have to be told what to do and don't do.
Both are know nots, requiring forgive them.

Adults should put away childish things,
and teach their children to do likewise;
For a Childish-adult is an oxy-moron,
and so is Lawed-grace.

What are your thoughts on such?

Colossians 2: why are you subject to laws, if by the using of laws all perish?

Titus 3: being "subject" to powers and principalities a "them", not "us, thing.

Of child/man, God said:
"let us make MAN"

Apostle Paul notes: 1Cor 13:
A man puts away childish things

Romans 4:7,8 compares two sorts of "blessed", with the second and better sort being "man" kind.

Above a servant, no more a servant, is neither a servant of sin nor a servant of righteousness.

Be no more children, is neither children of the wicked nor children of God.

Hell-o, is anyone there, or
am I talking into a vacuum?

I don't feel they are the same thing

when I think of the word servant. It's a derogatory term.
Someone who is suppressed and forced to follow something regardless of what they believe.

When I think of children, they can be naive and you can tell them how to think. Biblically they would follow their parents without question.

I think we should all have the choice to believe.
Not just to follow without question.
Then religion feels like a prison rather then a faith we can grow from.

Freedom is a relative thing. Do you wish to be truly free from all laws? Good-bye then. You will be dead in about 2 minutes. Gravity is a law. Needing oxygen is a law. Falling away from a planet going 2,000 mph is also a law. To be free of all such laws means you are dead.

No matter how old we get, our parents will aways be older and we are their children. God is older than any of us.

An adult servant or child of God means more freedom than most humans now have. First, we have real hope for the future. The world is not getting out of the mess we are in through science or politicians. False religions offer no hope either. Only the rule of God's Kingdom on earth can bring us back into an earthly paradise. Only that can free us from disease and food shortages effecting so much of the world.

We are free from fear. That does not mean spiders and snakes don't make us jump. It means fear of man and the future. Nothing man can do to us cannot be undone by Jehovah God, even death. The future is bleak controlled by man. The One whose promises have never failed (Joshua 21:45) has promised to end the suffering caused by this corrupt old system and restore earth to what He originally intended for the planet and humans on it.

We are free from inane beliefs like a fiery burning hell of torture. Also thoughts like how could God permit such a thing? We know what condition the dead are truly in so such beliefs have no hold on us (Jeremiah 7:31; Psalms 146:4; Eccles. 9:5,10) Ghosts and such have no grip of fear with us.

We have no fear of our spiritual brothers of another country or race. Because we follow the Bible council at Psalms 133:1; John 13:35; Philip. 1:9; and 1 Corin. 1:10, we maintain principled love and agreement in beliefs with all our spiritual brothers and sisters world wide no matter the race.

I am happy to be either.

You can be a child of God and still be an adult, just as you can be your parents' son or daughter and still be a grownup. It simply means you respect what they've done for you, what they've taught you and the wisdom that their greater age provides.

Freedom as a child of God or servant means, in time, being liberated from the stain of sin and everything it has brought on humanity. Take a moment, if you like, and read Revelation 21:3,4. That is what awaits those who truly serve God in the way that he requires.

Besides, we are all slaves, one way or another. That is why Jesus said that we cannot slave for two masters.

BTW, that IS a very interesting question and respectful. I appreciate it.

From Galatians 4

"What I am saying is that as long as the heir is a child, he is no different from a slave, although he owns the whole estate. He is subject to guardians and trustees until the time set by his father. So also, when we were children, we were in slavery under the basic principles of the world. But when the time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under law, to redeem those under law, that we might receive the full rights of sons. 6 Because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, “Abba, Father.” So you are no longer a slave, but a son; and since you are a son, God has made you also an heir."

Commentary
Paul often called himself a servant of Jesus Christ and encouraged us to believe that we are servants of righteousness. If we believe God when He says that 1) we are truly free, 2) we are no longer servants of sin but of righteousness, and 3) we are His heirs to the Kingdom, and then because fo these truths we want to be a servant because we are thankful and become one as an act of volition, would you classify this as subjection?

Jesus did not make Himself a servant to prove He was God. He did so to save us from ourselves. Likewise, we do not make ourselves servants to prove we are a good servant or a good Christian or worse better than everyone else, we do so to glorify the Father and to be a light to a lost world.

Freedom is a necessity to do so as an act of volition as did our Lord. Submitting ourselves as a loving expression of our freedom is the only way that we can truly know Jesus experientially.

Ahem

Context context context.

Brethren, be not children in understanding: howbeit in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men.

That we [henceforth] be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, [and] cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called [to be] an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God,

I commend unto you Phebe our sister, which is a servant of the church which is at Cenchrea:

For though I be free from all [men], yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more.

Made myself !!!!!

Thus experiantially knowing Christ.

Anyone who is really honest with themselves and devoted to serving "God" would have the utmost freedom.

Not only would they no longer need to fear death, but they would no longer feel bound by any of mankind's laws or ever think twice about how they acted based on how others may respond. This goes beyond any rules of religion as well. If a person were able to act on the faith in their heart, nothing ccould touch them and the would truly be free.

God commands that we go to him as children. That means to go in innocence.

There is no free will. Where people come up with that is beyond me. Jesus never one time says it. Never. And it IS Jesus who is the Saviour and who is supposed to be followed.

Willful subjection is the most pure form of freedom. It's knowing you could choose to leave and do what you want whenever you want and yet choosing to stay.

I understand how you see it like that- but think of it like this-
Children-
Held close to their parents.
Are loved (so much) by thier parents.
Are blessed with gifts (Jesus) by their parents.
Need to talk with their parents. (pray)
Admit their wrongs, and accept forgiveness from their parents. See how it relates? You may not like the child-lke comparison, but that's how much God loves us. :) You receive utimate freedom from the aweful things of the world in his arms.
